Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Institute of Neuropathology involves a blend of diagnostic and scientific research within a molecular pathology laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing and molecular pathological examination of patient materials, primarily focusing on neuro-oncology. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating and interpreting diagnostic results in close collaboration with medical doctors and contributing to ongoing neuropathological research projects. The role is unique for its long-term stability, offering a permanent contract (unbefristet) at a 66% part-time capacity. Required Skills

Education

PhD in Biology (Dr. rer. nat.) and specialized training/certification as a Human Geneticist (Fachhumangenetiker).

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in molecular pathological diagnostics of tumors of the nervous system
  • Proven experience with conventional and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies
  • Professional experience in the bioinformatic evaluation of molecular pathological results
  • Experience in scientific research regarding the pathomechanisms of neurological diseases is desirable
