Job Summary
This role involves the development, training, and validation of AI-based analysis applications for imaging datasets using the Visiopharm platform at the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology in Berlin. You will be responsible for creating efficient workflows for the automated image evaluation of skin preparations and nasal swabs, directly contributing to research for patients with allergies and mast cell diseases. The position requires close collaboration with biological and medical research teams to document and ensure the quality of developed modules. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new Fraunhofer Institute in cooperation with Charité. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Medical Engineering, Computational Biology, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in AI methods, image analysis, or software customization
- Experience with image analysis platforms such as Visiopharm, QuPath, HALO, or Definiens is advantageous
- Experience in programming using Python, MATLAB, or C# is desirable
- Professional background or interest in biology, immunology, histology, or immunocytochemistry is beneficial
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration within scientific or medical environments

Additional
- The position is located in Berlin-Steglitz. It is a full-time role (39 hours/week) initially limited to a one-year contract, though part-time is possible. Employment and compensation are governed by the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD).
