Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher role at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen involves joining a newly established Bioinformatics for Multi-Omics research group. The successful candidate will lead the development and application of advanced AI models, such as graph neural networks and variational autoencoders, to integrate complex multi-omics data. The primary objective is to study comorbidities between Parkinson’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease. Day-to-day responsibilities include constructing molecular interaction networks, performing biomarker discovery, and conducting simulation-based perturbation analyses. This position is highly collaborative, requiring close interaction with clinicians and experimental scientists to translate data into medical insights. It offers a unique opportunity to work within a BMFTR-funded project at a leading German university hospital, providing access to state-of-the-art computational infrastructure and a secure public sector contract (TV-L).
