Job Summary

This role at Erlangen University Hospital involves supporting the Immunogenetics Laboratory with critical organ donor diagnostics. As a Student Research Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting HLA typing and cross-match diagnostics independently when called upon. The position operates primarily on an on-call basis during evenings, nights, and weekends, working in close collaboration with the German Foundation for Organ Transplantation (DSO) and Eurotransplant. Required Skills

Education

Enrolled student in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Medicine) or completed vocational training as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MTL)

Experience

  • Practical laboratory experience with molecular biological methods
  • Advanced stage of studies in Molecular Medicine (typically from the 4th semester onwards) or completed vocational training as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MTL)
  • Experience with serological techniques is considered an advantage
  • Interest in transplantation immunology
