Job Summary
This is a leadership role within the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport (NLStBV) in Verden. As the Head of the Traffic Department, you will be responsible for managing traffic management affairs, representing the authority in external committees, and overseeing road construction tasks for federal and state roads. Day-to-day activities include developing traffic concepts, implementing technical traffic measures such as traffic light systems, and managing external engineering services. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering and possesses leadership qualities. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diploma/FH or Bachelor) in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a comparable field. For civil servants: Qualification for the 1st entry level of career group 2 in Technical Services.
Experience
- Professional experience in traffic engineering or road construction
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience required for E12 salary grouping
- Leadership experience is highly desirable
- Experience in managing external engineering services
- Experience in traffic management and committee work

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must have German language proficiency at C2 level. Work location is Verden, Germany.
