Job Summary

This role is based at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) within the Chair of iPS Cells and Neurodegenerative Diseases. As a Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in characterizing mouse models for neurodegenerative diseases like ALS and FTD. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include mouse genotyping, sample preparation via cryosectioning, and performing immunofluorescence and fluorescence microscopy to analyze spinal cord sections and motor neurons. Additionally, you will assist in evaluating the efficacy of novel AAV-based gene therapeutics. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological-Technical Assistant (BTA), Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), or Biological/Chemical Laboratory Technician.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a Biological-Technical Assistant (BTA), Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), or Laboratory Technician
  • Minimum of six months experience working with laboratory mice
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and/or immunofluorescence is highly desired
  • Experience in an international team environment

  • FELASA certificate required; German language ability specifically for understanding administration and mouse handling regulations; Position is part-time (75%) and limited to 24 months.
