Job Summary
The Office for Inland Traffic Engineering (ABVT) in Koblenz is seeking an Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Information Technology to join their Technical Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of traffic engineering measures, specifically focusing on the secure operation of fiber optic networks (SDH, MPLS) and radio operating networks for inland shipping. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing maintenance, repair, and inspection schedules, overseeing spare parts management, and handling procurement processes for technical systems. You will also provide technical support for fault clearance and develop monitoring systems to ensure high availability of traffic services. Required Skills
Education
University degree (FH-Diploma or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience as an Engineer required
- Practical experience in the maintenance and spare parts management of transmission systems
- Practical knowledge in network technology and configuration
- Experience in measurement technology and troubleshooting for transmission and network systems
- Experience in planning and setting up transmission systems
- Knowledge of public procurement and contract management
Languages
Additional
- Driving license class B (or old class 3) required; willingness to travel for several days within Germany and neighboring countries; foreign degrees must include an anabin comparability certificate.
