Job Summary

As an IT Network Administrator at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), you will lead the network technology division within the facility management department at the Garching research campus. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the installation, configuration, and operation of the entire IT infrastructure managed by the department, including building automation systems, PV systems, and charging stations. You will manage documentation and monitoring software such as HPE IMC and Solarwinds, oversee firewall security (Sophos/Fortigate), and handle the administration of a large-scale automation network covering approximately 100 buildings. Beyond technical tasks, you will manage projects according to HOAI phases, coordinate with external service providers, and ensure the continuous expansion of the network to meet evolving research needs. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science, Network Technology, or a comparable technical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in building automation technology is preferred
  • Experience in technical project management and service provider steering is preferred
  • Practical experience in the installation and configuration of server landscapes and network infrastructure
  • Experience in handling automation stations from manufacturers such as SAIA DEOS, Siemens, and Kieback&Peter
