Job Summary

As a Medical Physicist at the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology at University Medicine Göttingen, you will play a vital role in a high-tech clinical environment. Your daily responsibilities include radiation treatment planning, dosimetry, and rigorous quality assurance to ensure patient safety. You will provide technical support for state-of-the-art irradiation equipment, act as a radiation protection officer, and contribute to the introduction of innovative treatment techniques. This role also offers the unique opportunity to participate in research and teaching within a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The position is particularly attractive due to the clinic's complete equipment overhaul as of 2025, featuring cutting-edge technology such as Varian Ethos for adaptive therapy and Brainlab ExacTrac Dynamic systems. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in (Medical) Physics or an equivalent qualification. Must possess or be eligible to acquire the German 'Fachkunde' (expert knowledge) certification for Teletherapy and/or Brachytherapy.

Experience

  • Professional experience in radiation treatment planning and dosimetry
  • Experience with technical support for medical irradiation devices and accessories
  • Experience or specialized knowledge in Teletherapy and/or Brachytherapy (Fachkunde)
  • Experience in a clinical environment, preferably within a university hospital or cancer center
  • Experience in research and academic teaching is preferred

Additional

  • Must be willing to perform duties as a Radiation Protection Officer. The position is full-time and fixed-term. Location is based in Göttingen with some operations in Northeim.
