Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) focuses on a cross-institutional project to develop an AI-based tool for assessing pig welfare via vocalizations. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between behavioral biology and computer science, working closely with Fraunhofer IGD. Day-to-day responsibilities include running validation studies, generating annotated data, and testing the implementation of the AI tool on-farm. You will also be expected to participate in the KI-Tierwohl Young Researchers Group and collaborate within a large multi-disciplinary consortium. This role is ideal for a scientist with a background in life sciences who has an affinity for machine learning and bioacoustics.
