Job Summary

This role at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel involves conducting critical research into the restoration of bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) populations in the Baltic Sea. As a Biologist within the Experimental Ecology unit, you will conduct field experiments in the Eckernförder Bay to investigate species competition, map historical and current seaweed distributions, and optimize reforestation techniques using stone substrates and zygote inoculation. A key component of the role is the scientific monitoring of resettlement measures and the determination of suitable coastal areas through collaboration with authorities and stakeholders.
