Job Summary

This role involves working within the Department of Criminal Science and Technology at the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. As a Forensic Textile Analyst, you will be responsible for the independent documentation of investigative materials using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Your daily tasks include securing textile trace evidence through physical collection and adhesive tape sampling, as well as conducting detailed examinations using various microscopic techniques such as incident, transmitted light, polarization, and fluorescence microscopy. Furthermore, you will utilize computer-aided measurement methods like spectrophotometry to analyze evidence. This position is ideal for detail-oriented laboratory professionals who want to contribute to the criminal justice system by producing forensic reports that serve as critical evidence in criminal proceedings. The role offers the stability of public service employment within a modern, technologically advanced investigative environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a state-certified scientific-technical assistant (WTA) or a completed laboratory technician apprenticeship.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a laboratory or scientific-technical environment
  • Experience in the application of microscopic and computer-aided measurement methods
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and documenting sensitive materials or evidence
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and communicate findings clearly
