Job Summary

This full-time Research Associate position at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg involves cutting-edge research in theoretical physics. The successful candidate will focus on developing and implementing new methods for ab-initio solutions of material properties using quantum simulators. Key responsibilities include creating computer programs, performing numerical simulations, and investigating the electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of strongly correlated systems and magnetically active fullerenes. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to the functionalization of fullerene-based quantum spins for quantum information technology and optimizing spin-based components. Beyond research, the role includes teaching duties and the supervision of student projects. This position offers a unique opportunity for academic qualification (such as a PhD or Habilitation) within a highly specialized scientific environment, working under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Jamal Berakdar.
