Job Summary

As a Physicist or Systems Engineer specializing in Optical Sensing, you will play a critical role in the defense sector by conducting optical sensor and signature studies for drones and missiles. Your daily responsibilities will involve performing measurements in the visible and thermal infrared spectrums within both laboratory settings and flight campaigns. You will be responsible for building and maintaining signature databases, preparing measurement data for algorithms, and developing and testing EO/IR sensors and seekers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on future-oriented security policy projects within a highly competent interdisciplinary team. The role is attractive for its blend of hands-on technical work, such as sensor development and testing, and strategic contributions through workshops and stakeholder presentations. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Technical Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in physics, physical technology, or optical engineering
  • Experience with measurement systems and electronics is highly desirable
  • Experience in infrared measurements and sensor technologies
  • Experience in presenting simulation and measurement results to stakeholders
  • Experience with scripting languages for data analysis (Python or Matlab)
