Job Summary

This role involves conducting advanced optical sensor and signature studies specifically for drones and missiles within the defense sector. As a Physicist or Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for simulating infrared (IR) signatures, evaluating results, and building robust simulation environments. A key part of your day-to-day will involve maintaining and expanding IR signature databases and validating simulation models to serve as the team's subject matter expert. You will also represent the company in technical workshops and stakeholder discussions. This position is particularly attractive for those looking to work on future-oriented security policy projects in an interdisciplinary environment. The role offers high levels of technical complexity, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to work for a specialized engineering service provider supporting the German Armed Forces and allied military units.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Technical Optics, Electrical Engineering, Meteorology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IR spectroscopy and modeling of emission and absorption behavior of gases
  • Professional experience in raytracing methodologies
  • Experience with rocket motor exhaust plumes is desirable
  • Experience in creating and maintaining simulation environments and databases
  • Proven track record of presenting technical simulation and measurement results to stakeholders
