Job Summary
This role involves the technical execution and development of downstream processing (DSP) for recombinant proteins and plasmid DNA. Based in Hamburg, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of preparative purification processes, including homogenization, centrifugation, and filtration. A significant portion of the work involves chromatography using ÄKTA systems, encompassing column packing and qualification. You will also perform process-related analytics such as UV/VIS, PAGE, Western Blot, and HPLC to ensure quality and efficiency. The position is ideal for candidates who enjoy laboratory organization and the structured documentation of results. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative biopharmaceutical environment on a fixed-term basis until late 2028, offering exposure to industrial-scale process optimization and potential involvement in strain development and cell bank creation.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Biology Laboratory Technician, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in Downstream Processing and Chromatography is preferred
- Practical experience in protein-based, molecular, and microbiological analytics
- Experience in molecular and microbiological laboratory work
- Experience in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing protocols
