Job Summary

As a Research Scientist in Process Development (Downstream Processing), you will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes for recombinant peptides, proteins, and plasmid DNA as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Your day-to-day work involves planning and executing purification experiments, managing projects within midstream and downstream processing, and coordinating technology transfers. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, guide technical staff, and prepare technical documentation and reports for both clients and regulatory authorities. A key aspect of the role is presenting development results to international stakeholders. The ideal candidate holds a degree in natural sciences (preferably a PhD) and brings significant industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals. You should possess deep expertise in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and preparative chromatography. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in natural sciences, preferably with a PhD.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnological industry, with a focus on downstream processing.
  • Experience in protein and plasmid DNA handling, including renaturation from inclusion bodies.
  • Experience in project coordination, technology transfer, scalability assessments, and gap analysis.
  • Experience working within a GMP-regulated environment is considered an advantage.
