Job Summary

This part-time (50%) research position at the Institute for Information Systems (iisys) focuses on enhancing the digital security infrastructure of the university. As a Research Associate, you will work closely with the Information Security Officer to conduct forensic analyses of security incidents and define preventative measures. Your daily responsibilities include maintaining vulnerability assessment scanners, performing regular security audits, and executing independent penetration tests on new software and system developments. You will also develop security concepts and monitor the global threat landscape to integrate new research findings into institutional policies. This role is particularly attractive for those seeking to pursue a PhD, as it offers support for a cooperative doctorate in system and network security. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Computer Science or a comparable field of study. Foreign degrees require a statement of comparability from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).

Experience

  • Professional experience in penetration testing and security audits
  • Practical experience in forensic analysis of information security incidents
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Linux system administration
  • Extensive experience in software development and programming
  • Experience in monitoring and analyzing the current cyber threat landscape
