Job Summary
This role involves the comprehensive management and administration of the Saarland State Police IT infrastructure, supporting over 3,000 devices across 50 locations. As a key member of the IT System Operations team, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, and monitoring of Microsoft Windows Servers within virtualized environments. Day-to-day tasks include managing storage systems (SAN), developing PowerShell scripts, and administering Microsoft SQL Servers and web applications. You will also play a vital role in IT projects and the creation of technical documentation. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science (Bachelor's minimum) or a completed vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration).
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system administration or a related field
- Several years of professional experience required if applying with a vocational qualification (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration)
- Practical experience in administering Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems
- Practical experience in Linux system administration, specifically Red Hat
- Experience in managing SQL servers and web applications using IIS and .NET
- Proven experience in scripting with current versions of Windows PowerShell

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance (Ü2) according to the Saarland Security Check Act. Participation in on-call duty is required.
