Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg involves the technical management and support of the speech science recording studio, phonetic laboratories, and specialized research collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for the selection, procurement, and maintenance of audio, video, measurement, and computer technology used for linguistic analysis. Day-to-day tasks include recording, editing, and archiving signal data for teaching and research, as well as the digitization and restoration of historical sound carriers. A unique aspect of this role is providing direct technical consultancy to students, doctoral candidates, and professors during third-party funded projects. This position offers a stable public service career (TV-L E10) within a creative academic environment, allowing for significant professional autonomy in managing high-end media and measurement equipment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree preferred in Media Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Extensive practical experience in media, audio, measurement, and studio technology
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and restoration of technical equipment
  • Demonstrated practical experience in IT network administration and maintenance
  • Experience in supporting academic research or third-party funded projects
