Job Summary

The Zoological Institute at the Technical University of Braunschweig is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant to join the Department of Cellular Neurobiology. In this role, you will play a vital part in research focused on neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration, and memory formation. Your daily responsibilities will involve the isolation and cultivation of primary neurons and glial cells, performing sterile cell culture work, and executing molecular biology techniques such as PCR, Western Blot, and ELISA. You will also be responsible for tissue preparation, buffer production, and general laboratory organization. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), or Pharmaceutical Technical Assistant (PTA).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the isolation and cultivation of animal cell cultures, specifically neurons and glia
  • Practical experience in animal experimental activities including handling and monitoring
  • Experience in molecular biological and biochemical laboratory methods
  • Experience in laboratory documentation and electronic data systems
  • Experience with stereotactic injections in mouse brains is preferred but not mandatory
