Job Summary
This position at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences (AN[ki]T) offers a unique opportunity for professionals to bridge the gap between academic research and practical AI application while pursuing a PhD. Day-to-day, you will develop and refine algorithms in areas such as Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, and Time Series Prediction. You will be responsible for the modularization and integration of these algorithms into complex software architectures and the construction of hardware/software prototypes for live demonstrations. Beyond technical development, the role involves publishing research in scientific journals, presenting at conferences, and conducting workshops for project partners. This is an ideal role for someone looking to combine high-level software engineering with academic advancement in a modern, interdisciplinary research environment. The position is part-time (20 hours per week) and offers an initial 12-month contract with the explicit goal of extension for doctoral candidates.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence
- Experience in software development and working with Linux-based systems
- Experience in the conception, modularization, and integration of algorithms into software architectures
- Experience in scientific networking and publication of research results
- Experience in teaching or laboratory support is preferred

- Must have an interest in pursuing a doctorate (PhD) in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Initial contract is 12 months, with extension possible upon submission of a doctoral supervision agreement. Compensation follows E13 TV-L public service scales.
