Job Summary

As a Strategic Portfolio Planner, you will play a critical role in shaping the digital future of Germany's armed forces (Bundeswehr). Working within the Enterprise IT Architecture & Portfolio unit, you will be responsible for the strategic alignment, technological direction, and continuous development of the BWI service portfolio. Your daily tasks involve identifying optimization potential based on customer needs, creating strategic positioning papers, and defining target images for specific portfolio areas, particularly in mission-related IT. You will act as a central authority for defining strategic guidelines, coordinating with architecture teams to develop target solutions, and managing the portfolio roadmap to ensure efficiency and future-viability. This position is ideal for experienced IT professionals who want to combine technical expertise with leadership skills to manage complex IT infrastructures in a socially relevant and secure environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in a commercial-technical field such as Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Law, or a comparable qualification. Certifications in Product and IT Service Management are preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT product and/or portfolio management
  • Experience in mission-related or operational IT environments is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in developing strategic target images and portfolio roadmaps
  • Experience in cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management
  • Professional experience in analytical thinking and structured problem-solving
