Job Summary

As the Lead IT Architect for Managed Databases, you will spearhead the digital transformation of Germany's federal defense IT infrastructure. Operating within the Platform Technologies division, you will be responsible for defining architecture strategies and developing secure, high-performance on-premise database platforms. Your day-to-day involves creating detailed solution concepts, emergency protocols, and security frameworks for Open Source database environments. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic management by advising on service strategies, conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs), and driving efficiency through automation. This role is unique for its scale and national importance, offering the chance to modernize one of Germany's most complex IT landscapes. You will work in a collaborative environment that values structured problem-solving and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable architectural designs, ensuring the long-term operational readiness of critical national services.

Required Skills

Education

Completed subject-related university degree or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Approximately 6 years of professional experience in a relevant technical field
  • Long-term experience with Open Source databases in large-scale, complex enterprise environments
  • Extensive experience in creating architecture and security concepts for database technologies
  • Proven experience in implementing security measures based on vulnerability assessments
  • Experience in automation within technical domains
