Job Summary
As a Software Engineer for Embedded Systems at HENSOLDT, you will join the 'Laser Warning Engineering' department in Taufkirchen to develop optical and acoustic sensors for military platform protection. Your daily responsibilities include implementing operational software in C for new sensors, performing bug fixes on existing systems, and analyzing technical requirements to create innovative realization concepts. You will work in close collaboration with firmware, algorithms, and hardware teams using agile methodologies to bring solutions from integration to testing. This role is unique for its involvement in the entire product lifecycle—from prototype development to international test campaigns—within a leading defense technology firm. You will take ownership of work packages regarding quality, cost, and risk assessment, ensuring the continuous optimization of high-tech sensor systems used across air, land, and sea platforms.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in hardware-oriented programming using C and C++
- Proven experience in programming with Embedded Linux and Buildroot environments
- Practical experience in software versioning and creating software architectures
- Experience in signal processing and sensor electronics is preferred
- Experience with VxWorks is considered an advantage
Languages
Additional
- Participation in both national and international test campaigns is required. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Taufkirchen and manage work packages involving risk assessment and quality control.
