Job Summary
As the Head of Gas and Water Network Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the transformation and growth of the utility infrastructure in the Freiburg region. You will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical leadership of the department, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and emergency management of gas and water assets to ensure high supply quality. A significant part of your role involves serving as the Technical Manager according to TSM (Technical Safety Management) standards, ensuring all planning, construction, and operational tasks comply with legal regulations and DVGW rules. You will lead strategic initiatives, including multi-year planning, efficiency programs, and innovation roadmaps, while fostering a culture of occupational safety. This position is ideal for a strategic leader who enjoys high levels of creative freedom, as you will be instrumental in reorganizing and modernizing the department within a dynamic, flexible work environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Engineering or a similar academic qualification in a relevant field.
Experience
- Many years of leadership experience within the energy or utilities industry
- Several years of professional experience in a technically-oriented environment
- Extensive expertise in the operation of gas and water networks, including plant and measurement technology
- Proven track record in strategic management and analytical decision-making
- Experience as a Technical Manager (Technische Führungskraft) according to DVGW standards is highly preferred
- Experience in managing certifications, audits, and compliance with technical standards

- The role requires the ability to take on technical responsibility according to Technical Safety Management (TSM) and DVGW standards. Candidates must be able to lead a department through a reorganization process.
