Job Summary
This role involves the technical and economic management of commissioning High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems globally, with a specific focus on data networks and communication components. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring TCP/IP-based network infrastructures, including HMI concepts and time synchronization systems. You will act as a technical expert, supporting customers and partners in troubleshooting communication interfaces while ensuring seamless signal delivery. The position is highly dynamic, requiring participation in quality and risk management as well as lean initiatives. It offers a unique opportunity to work in the energy transition sector, involving international travel to construction sites and potentially offshore platforms. The role is based out of Forchheim for initial training before moving to project-specific locations worldwide, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy field work and complex technical challenges.
Required Skills
Education
Degree or completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification; Qualified Electrician (Elektrofachkraft) certification.
Experience
- Professional experience in commissioning HVDC systems or similar large-scale energy plants
- Proven experience in network administration including switches, routers, and virtualization
- Experience in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces
- Experience working on construction sites or offshore environments is preferred
- Professional background in electrical or information technology
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel globally to construction sites and offshore platforms. Must be able to pass security or medical checks for offshore deployments if required.
