Job Summary

As an Enterprise Architect for BWI, the primary digitalization partner for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Germany's national security IT infrastructure. Operating within the Military Enterprise Architecture & Portfolio Advisory unit, you will act as a vital bridge between military requirements and technical IT solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve analyzing and evolving the enterprise architecture, creating reference and project architectures, and developing long-term strategic target states for complex IT landscapes. You will advise the customer on architectural standards and ensure that military needs are seamlessly integrated into the service portfolio. This position is ideal for professionals who want to work on one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, offering a unique blend of high-level strategic planning and societal impact within a stable, flexible, and value-driven environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable STEM subject; alternatively, an equivalent completed professional vocational training.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of subject-related professional experience following a university degree, or 5 years of experience following vocational training
  • Initial professional experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Service Portfolio/Management
  • Experience in requirements gathering and management
  • Experience in creating and optimizing reference and project architectures
  • Proven ability to present complex technical concepts to middle management
