As a Big Data Engineer at the BMW Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of data-driven mobility by managing petabyte-scale automotive sensor data. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve designing and building high-performance search and query pipelines that allow ML engineers to query billions of records in seconds. You will build indexing systems for metadata extraction, develop distributed compute pipelines for data evaluation, and optimize storage strategies for cost and performance. This role is highly technical, requiring the implementation of observability stacks and dataset assembly pipelines to support machine learning models.
