Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a specialized Vector department focused on developing self-replicating RNA vectors for cell therapy. As a Research Associate, you will be deeply involved in the day-to-day laboratory operations, ranging from cloning vectors for CAR or TCR expression to the synthesis and purification of therapeutic RNA. You will work extensively with primary human immune cells, conducting vital in vitro functional assays such as cytotoxicity and cytokine release tests. A unique and significant aspect of this position involves animal experimentation, including establishing tumor models and in vivo RNA delivery in mice. This role is ideal for a hands-on scientist who enjoys a mix of molecular biology, cell culture, and preclinical testing. The position is based in Mainz and offers a dynamic, innovative research environment with flat hierarchies, mobile work options, and a strong emphasis on professional development and team culture.

  • Practical professional experience in the cultivation of primary human immune cells
  • Demonstrated experience with molecular biological methods and techniques
  • Preferred experience in animal experimentation with FELASA (A+D) certification
  • Experience in RNA extraction and purification processes
  • Experience in performing flow cytometry and functional assays
