Job Summary
As a Senior Materials Engineer at Inteva Products' Technical Center in Grasbrunn, you will play a pivotal role in the Advanced Material & Process Group Europe. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve applying deep chemical and physical expertise to develop, validate, and implement innovative material and manufacturing solutions for future vehicle interiors. You will analyze industry trends, evaluate material combinations against customer budgets, and coordinate complex chemical analyses with internal and external laboratories. A significant part of this role includes optimizing manufacturing processes such as foaming, slushing, and bonding, while conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to ensure compliance with global regulations like REACH and GADSL. This position is ideal for a solution-oriented professional who enjoys a mix of laboratory coordination, process optimization, and strategic environmental assessment. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (PhD preferred), or alternatively in Plastics or Materials Technology with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in material development focusing on plastics and processes for automotive applications
- Extensive experience in chemical-physical analysis and development
- Proven track record in creating and evaluating product Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Professional experience with manufacturing processes for interior trim components
- Experience in managing collaborations with external laboratories, suppliers, and customers
