Job Summary

As a Scientist in Downstream Processing, you will be responsible for the process development of recombinant cells and proteins within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. Your daily activities will involve processing samples, cell culture media, and recombinant cells, alongside designing experimental studies using Design of Experiments (DoEs) and Quality by Design (QbD) principles. You will independently plan, execute, and evaluate experiments utilizing advanced laboratory technologies such as chromatography, filtration, and flow cytometry (High Throughput DSP). This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a mix of hands-on laboratory work and statistical analysis. The position offers high flexibility through flexitime and mobile working options, set within a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and active participation in shaping development projects. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with strict quality standards.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in (Molecular) Biology, Chemistry, or another natural science field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in downstream processes within a scientific or industrial environment
  • Practical experience in preparative laboratory work including chromatography and filtration
  • Experience in handling, processing, and distributing biological samples
  • Proven experience using statistical analysis software such as JMP or R
  • Experience in experimental design and independent evaluation of scientific data
