Job Summary
This role involves joining the leadership staff of the Police Headquarters in Ludwigshafen within the Communications Technology department. You will be responsible for the planning, installation, and maintenance of diverse communication systems, including telephony, digital radio, alarm systems, and video surveillance used for police operations. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing complex system malfunctions, developing technical solutions, and providing expert advice to staff on infrastructure usage. You will also define technical requirements for equipment procurement and conduct training for employees. This position is particularly attractive due to its high level of job security within the public service (TV-L 9a), a meaningful contribution to public safety, and a strong focus on work-life balance with flexible working hours and 30 days of annual leave. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training or further education in IT, such as IT System Electronics, Electronics for Information and Telecommunications Technology, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system electronics or information and telecommunications technology
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of communication and reporting systems
- Experience in technical problem analysis and cross-system troubleshooting
- Experience in providing technical support and user training
- Experience in technical requirement planning and procurement support
Languages
Additional
- Must be free from vertigo (capable of working at heights); Medical fitness certificates G41 (working at heights) and G25 (driving/monitoring tasks) required; Valid Class B driver's license; Willingness to perform on-call duty; Mandatory security clearance (Ü2) according to LSÜG; Commitment to the free democratic basic order; Moderate physical resilience required.
