Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position based in Ludwigshafen offers a dynamic role within the IT Systems Engineering department of the regional police headquarters. You will be responsible for the planning, configuration, and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual server environments, storage systems, and network components. Day-to-day tasks involve administering VMware and Hyper-V environments, managing Windows Servers, Active Directory, and Exchange, while providing second-level support for technical issues. The role is vital for ensuring IT security and high availability of systems used by law enforcement. Required Skills

Education

University degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a comparable qualification at DQR Level 6.

Experience

  • Professional experience in error analysis and troubleshooting, ideally in Second or Third Level Support
  • Practical experience in administering virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Experience in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Exchange
  • Experience with scripting languages, specifically PowerShell and SQL
  • Experience in planning and implementing IT infrastructure and network components

  • Class B driver's license required. Must undergo a Level 2 security clearance (Ü2) according to LSÜG. Commitment to the free democratic basic order is mandatory. Participation in weekly on-call shifts outside of regular hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.
