Job Summary
As a Research Associate at the Institute for Prevention and Occupational Medicine (IPA), you will lead the scientific execution and evaluation of the 'Post-COVID-19 and Biomarkers' project. Your daily responsibilities include characterizing patients with persistent symptoms following SARS-CoV-2 infections, supervising technical staff, and ensuring quality control through the development of standard operating procedures. You will represent the department in interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the scientific community through publications and presentations. This role is ideal for a biologist or biochemist with strong expertise in immunological methods and statistical analysis. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or Diploma in Biology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent; a PhD in these fields is considered an advantage.
Experience
- Professional experience in immunological methods for cell characterization and biomarker quantification
- Experience in the application of statistical methods for research data
- Proven experience in supervising technical and student staff
- Experience in creating scientific publications and delivering professional presentations

- The position is located in Bochum and is initially limited to 12 months with a potential option for extension. Candidates must be able to work full-time (though part-time is generally possible) and meet the requirements for the BG-AT EG 13 salary group.
