Job Summary

As an Electrical Protection Engineer at EWR Netz GmbH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the power grid in Alzey. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing and optimizing protection concepts for medium and low-voltage networks, as well as high-voltage equipment. You will perform essential load flow and short-circuit current calculations using industry-standard software like DIgSILENT PowerFactory and StationWare. A key part of the role includes analyzing grid disturbances and damage events to derive measures that improve supply quality. You will act as a technical consultant for protection technicians and planners while contributing to digitalization and standardization strategies for secondary technology. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Master) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification; additional training as a Protection Engineer is ideal.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of protection technology
  • Experience in developing and optimizing protection concepts for medium and low-voltage networks
  • Practical experience using PowerFactory and StationWare (DIgSILENT)
  • Experience in analyzing damage events and reliability/failure analysis
  • Experience in technical asset management or grid development
