Job Summary

As a (Senior) Data Protection Consultant at bk systems Datenschutz GmbH, you will serve as a professional sparring partner for medium-sized clients within the GBC Group. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve managing data protection mandates, structuring complex regulatory requirements, and translating legal mandates into concrete, actionable measures. You will act as an external Data Protection Officer (DPO), conducting audits, reviews, and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA). This role is highly autonomous, focusing on integrating data protection into modern IT landscapes alongside security specialists. The position is ideal for professionals who value high remote-work flexibility and performance-oriented compensation. You will be responsible for creating data protection concepts, managing supplier processing agreements, and ensuring compliance with GDPR and BDSG. The role is unique for its pragmatic approach to compliance, moving beyond simple checklists to provide high-quality, structured consulting that directly impacts client success and organizational security.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Law, (Business) Informatics, Economics, or a comparable field. Relevant certifications in Data Protection and/or Compliance are required.

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in implementing data protection requirements according to EU-GDPR
  • Extensive experience in creating data protection guidelines and procedural descriptions
  • Proven track record in interpreting legal requirements into practical business measures
  • Experience in structured project work with clear milestone and result responsibility
  • Experience with AI tools for documentation and analysis efficiency is desirable

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel for projects (approximately 1-2 days per week). High remote work capability with performance-based compensation (80/20 fixed/variable split).
