Job Summary

This role is based within the Hadron Physics and QCD department at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research, a world-leading particle accelerator facility. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will conduct advanced scientific research focusing on Lattice QCD and Hadron Physics. Your day-to-day responsibilities include deriving loop correction terms in scattering processes using chiral Lagrangian functions, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting results at international conferences. You will work within the FAIR project framework, one of the largest research projects globally, contributing to simulations of heavy-ion reactions. This position is ideal for a theoretical physicist looking to work in a highly technical, international environment at the forefront of nuclear research. The role offers a three-year fixed-term contract starting in mid-2026, providing a stable platform for high-level academic development and collaboration within a prestigious scientific community.

Required Skills

Education

PhD (Doctorate) in Physics, preferably with a focus on Theoretical Hadron Physics.

Experience
