Job Summary
This is a high-level leadership role reporting directly to the Mayor of a city in the Rhine-Neckar region. As the Head of Central Administration, you will oversee a broad portfolio including Human Resources, IT & Digitalization, Education, Culture, and Social Services. You will lead a core team of 49 employees, while holding organizational responsibility for approximately 550 total municipal staff, including pedagogical personnel at daycares and youth centers. Your daily responsibilities involve managing personnel law cases, handling municipal legal matters, and coordinating committee meetings for the local council. This position is ideal for a seasoned public sector professional looking to shape the administrative landscape of a well-developed infrastructure hub. Required Skills
Education
Master of Public Management, or a Bachelor of Arts in Public Management (Dipl. Verwaltungswirt/in FH), or a comparable qualification enabling senior administrative service.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience across multiple administrative functional areas
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to take on high-level responsibility
- Extensive experience in handling complex, cross-departmental tasks and legal matters
- Experience in municipal committee work and council business management
