Job Summary

This part-time position at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig focuses on the study of biomolecular condensates and their role in viral infections. As a Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of experiments within a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) environment. Your daily activities will include cell culture management, molecular biology tasks such as qPCR and cloning, and supporting high-throughput drug screening processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in laboratory organization, including inventory management and onboarding new staff. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Laboratory Technician, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in cell and molecular biological methods
  • Practical experience in the cultivation of human cell lines
  • Experience in virology or laboratory automation is preferred
  • Experience in laboratory management, including ordering supplies and equipment maintenance
  • Experience working with infectious materials or drug compounds
