Job Summary

As a Senior Professional System Engineer at the IT System House of the Federal Employment Agency (BA), you will play a pivotal role in managing one of Germany's largest IT landscapes. Your primary focus will be the implementation and operation of virtual Linux clients, particularly for developers, including domain integration and automated deployment on Ubuntu. You will take a lead role in administering and optimizing complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments using Citrix and VMware technologies. Day-to-day tasks include system analysis, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring high levels of system security and availability. This position is particularly attractive due to its high flexibility, offering up to 80% remote work, a structured onboarding process, and extensive professional development opportunities with up to 20 days of training per year. Required Skills

Education

University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Computer Science or Business Informatics.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in system engineering or IT operations
  • Professional experience in the development or operation of software solutions and infrastructures
  • Proven experience with virtual Linux clients in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in automated deployment of virtualized systems
  • Experience with client virtualization and terminal servers (Citrix or equivalent)
  • Experience in managing smaller IT projects or leading technical tasks
