Job Summary

As a Senior Frontend Developer at Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund, you will lead the evolution of the user interface for an Open Source Learning Management System (ILIAS®). Operating within an agile, cross-functional team, you will design and implement modern web applications with a focus on intuitive, user-centered design. Your daily responsibilities include creating prototypes, conducting feasibility studies for new IT procedures, and ensuring high technical performance alongside excellent usability. This role is unique as it allows you to directly influence the digital education infrastructure for over 20,000 annual participants. You will collaborate closely with various experts to transform creative ideas into functional applications that provide genuine value to the public sector's educational landscape. The position offers long-term stability with a permanent contract and the opportunity to work on large-scale digitalization projects within Berlin.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in IT, Business Informatics, Media Informatics, or a related field. Alternatively, completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for Application Development/System Integration with several years of practical experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in frontend web development
  • Proven experience with React and TypeScript
  • Professional experience in agile software development environments
  • Experience in analyzing complex errors and working with third-party code
  • Experience with UI/UX patterns and design systems
