Job Summary

As a Specialist Planner for Laboratory Technology Investments at University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical research and diagnostics. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the independent conception and implementation of both large and small-scale investments in laboratory equipment and systems. You will lead projects to implement new laboratory procedures, coordinating closely with end-users, internal departments, and external specialized companies. Key tasks include drafting technical statements, creating procurement specifications, and evaluating tenders based on follow-up costs and strategic value. This role is unique because it combines high-level technical planning with administrative oversight of medical device regulations (MDR, MPBetreibV). You will act as a consultant for the procurement and installation of cutting-edge equipment, ensuring all safety and cleanroom standards are met. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master/Diploma or Bachelor/FH) in Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Hospital Technology, or a comparable field; alternatively, a technical vocational qualification with equivalent proven experience in laboratory planning.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning and design of laboratory equipment and hospital infrastructure
  • Proven experience in project management for technical investments and implementation
  • Experience with public procurement law (VOL) and medical device operating regulations
  • Experience in the planning, construction, and commissioning of cleanroom environments
  • Experience in evaluating technical tenders and calculating follow-up costs
