Job Summary

This role is situated within the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Labor of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, specifically within the State Regulatory Authority. As a State Regulatory Officer, you will ensure non-discriminatory access to electricity and gas supply networks while maintaining secure and efficient network operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve managing the business and economic aspects of energy network regulation, determining revenue caps for network access, and auditing financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss accounts submitted by network operators. You will also independently lead regulatory proceedings and participate in oral hearings. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of public administration and the energy industry, contributing to the stability of regional infrastructure. It is a fixed-term appointment covering a period of maternity and parental leave, approximately one year in duration, making it an excellent entry point into high-level state governance and energy policy.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma) with a focus on Economics or Business Administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in business administration or economic analysis
  • Experience in financial accounting, auditing, or tax auditing is preferred
  • Experience in the energy industry or network regulation is desirable
  • Proven experience in independent process management and conducting hearings
  • Experience in controlling and financial reporting
