Job Summary

This role is based at Europe's largest textile research facility, the German Institutes for Textile and Fiber Research (DITF). As a Research Associate within the Competence Center for Textile Chemistry, Application & Environmental Technologies, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of scientific research projects and industrial contracts. Your daily activities will focus on the research and development of materials and processes for barrier textiles, specifically for construction and geotextile applications. This involves the organization, setup, and execution of experiments in both laboratory and technical center environments, followed by rigorous documentation and reporting. You will act as a key point of contact for suppliers, industrial customers, and project partners. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment at the intersection of chemistry and process engineering, contributing to Industry 4.0 innovations while benefiting from public service employment terms (TV-L) and a flexible working structure.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Process Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in textile and materials technology
  • Experience in project management or processing is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and evaluating laboratory experiments
  • Experience in collaborating with industrial partners and suppliers

Additional

  • The position is initially limited to a 2-year contract with the intention of permanent employment. Candidates must be willing to work full-time. Compensation follows the TV-L E13 public service pay scale.
