Job Summary

The Faculty of Science at the University of Tübingen is seeking a Tenure-Track Professor for Evolutionary Modelling to join the Department of Geosciences. The successful candidate will conduct high-level research involving the statistical and computational modelling of human fossil, molecular, cultural, or environmental data. Key responsibilities include contributing to the 'Human Origins' Cluster of Excellence, developing innovative quantitative methods for evolutionary timescales, and collaborating across disciplines such as Computer Science and Machine Learning. The role involves a teaching load of four to six hours per week in Bachelor's and Master's programs, focusing on computer modelling and human evolution. This position offers a clear path to a permanent W3 Professorship (Tenure-Track) within a highly collaborative and family-friendly academic environment. It is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious researcher to bridge the gap between geosciences, archaeology, and advanced computational science at one of Germany's leading research universities.
