Job Summary

This role involves joining the 'Biological Analytics' department at the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Rhine-Ruhr-Wupper (CVUA-RRW), a public law institution focused on consumer health protection. As a Laboratory Technician, you will perform macroscopic and microscopic examinations of food and feed samples, including species identification and qualitative/quantitative analysis of herbs, teas, and dietary supplements. You will be responsible for developing and validating microscopic methods, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality assurance under DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards. The position offers a highly motivated environment with modern technical equipment, including electron microscopy (SEM/EDX). Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed laboratory-based vocational training as a Laboratory Assistant (Biology or Chemistry) or Technical Assistant (PTA, CTA, BTA, or VMTA/MTA).

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in microscopic examinations, preferably involving plant components
  • Professional experience in a laboratory environment (Chemistry or Biology)
  • Experience in the extraction of various food and feed matrices
  • Experience working within an accredited quality management framework (ISO 17025)
  • Experience using specialized microscopy software and LIMS systems
