Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position based in the Schleswig-Flensburg district offers a diverse role within the Soil and Groundwater Department. The successful candidate will play a direct role in improving local water quality and addressing current environmental challenges near the Danish border. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and technically assessing violations of water, soil, and waste regulations, conducting inspections of wastewater systems and agricultural facilities, and monitoring installations according to the Ordinance on Facilities for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV). Additionally, you will handle contaminated site management by evaluating construction files and maintaining the 'K3' soil database. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys a mix of office-based data management and field-based inspections. Required Skills
Education
State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfte*r Techniker*in) specializing in Environmental Protection, Environmental Technology, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in environmental protection, environmental technology, or civil engineering
- Experience in identifying and technically assessing violations of environmental laws
- Experience in conducting technical inspections of agricultural and commercial facilities
- Experience in evaluating construction files and managing contaminated site registries
- Experience in field service operations, including navigating difficult terrain
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B (or old Class 3) driver's license is mandatory. Must be physically fit for field assignments in rough terrain. Optional participation in the water authority's on-call standby service for emergencies involving water-hazardous substances. Requires strong assertiveness and a confident professional demeanor.
