Job Summary

This role involves leading and coordinating a high-impact project to advance 'SootUp', a globally recognized open-source static analysis framework for Java and Android software. Based at the University of Paderborn within the Secure Software Engineering group, you will spend the majority of your time (70%) on the technical development and maintenance of the framework, while also dedicating time to project leadership, scientific communication, and community building. The position is unique as it sits at the intersection of cutting-edge research and professional software engineering, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). You will be responsible for establishing a sustainable open-source ecosystem and implementing features critical to the international research community. This is a three-year fixed-term contract offering a collaborative environment, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to shape a tool used by hundreds of research groups and companies worldwide.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science (Informatik)

Experience

  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience as a Java Software Developer
  • Professional experience in leading and coordinating software projects
  • Professional experience in active participation within Open Source Software (OSS) projects
  • Professional experience in secure software engineering or static analysis tools is preferred
