As a QA Automation Engineer at Schmitt Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring software quality within the railway technology sector. Your daily responsibilities involve driving test automation by developing, operationalizing, and optimizing test strategies in close collaboration with agile teams. You will be responsible for planning and executing various test activities, including load tests and scenarios, while integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable qualification; ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development and the creation of functional test cases
  • Proven experience in test automation and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development processes, specifically within Scrum or SAFe frameworks
  • Experience performing technical analyses using modern monitoring and logging tools
  • Practical experience using GitLab and AI-supported tools in a professional environment
